Ariane Denoyel is a freelance French journalist who lectures at the University of Grenoble. She has written mainly on health topics for the last 12 years with a focus on prescription drugs and adverse events; the lack of transparency in drug testing and regulatory approval. Issues surrounding Pharma vigilance informs her writing which she has published in news forums such as Le Monde diplomatique, StreetPress, L'Humanité, Blast, Le Lanceur, Lyon Capitale, L'Arrière-Cour. In 2021 Ariane published Génération Zombie, enquête sur le scandale des antidépresseurs. The book investigates the widespread use of antidepressants (SSRIs) and highlights concerns over their clinical efficacy and the harms they pose to the public. Her most recent book, Overdose, comment la surconsommation de médicaments nous tue, co-authored with the English physician Peter Selley, was published in October 2024. The book examines the reasons why "wealthy" countries have become vastly overmedicated and what lies at the roots of this massive overprescription.
