Serena Tinari is the co-founder of Re-Check, a Swiss non-profit organisation for the investigation and mapping of health affairs. She started working as a journalist in 1994. Between 2002 and 2015, she was an investigative reporter and documentary maker for the Swiss public broadcaster. Primarily specialised in medicine and healthcare, she has experience on human rights violations and digital security. She is a member of the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ). A contributor with the British Medical Journal, Serena wrote with Catherine Riva on commission by the Global Investigative Journalism Network (GIJN) its Health Guide. She's a member of the Ghost Management Research Project with Carleton University and the co-author of a guide to apply that framework to in-depth investigations in the healthcare sector. Serena is a member of the coordinating panel of the Lown List of Independent Health Expert. She has extensive experience in training journalists on how to combine investigative journalism and evidence-based medicine.
