Diego Moya, Data Scientist

Diego Moya  works as PhD researcher in the Energy Systems Modelling Group at Imperial College’s Sustainable Gas Institute to implement the Agent-Based Integrated Assessment Model, MUSE, and is part of the Science and Solutions for a Changing Planet DTP at the Grantham Institute. He is sponsored by the SENESCYT Universities of Excellence Scholarship Scheme and is a scholar of the Faculty of Civil and Mechanical Engineering, Technical University of Ambato, UTA; where he teaches Non-Conventional Energy Resources and Thermal Machines since 2016. He has recently completed a two-year Master of Engineering with Advanced Studies in Energy Systems at Griffith University, Australia, and holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from National Polytechnic School (EPN), Ecuador. At EPN, he worked as a research assistant in the Laboratory of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency from 2004 to 2008. Diego is one of the founders of iiasur, the Institute for Applied Sustainability Research, a recently created research institute for sustainable development in South America. His current research is based on Geographic Information Systems and Agent-Based approaches to assess global decarbonisation pathways of the residential sector.
